Even a Muslim outlook is made symbol of terrorism: Dr S Balaraman

Alappuzha: Not just Muslim names, but even Muslim outlook is made an identity of terrorism, opined Dr S Balaraman, former acting Chairman of the state Human Rights Commission. He was inaugurating the discussion on the topic ‘the future of human rights in the Indian Republic’ organized by the Solidarity Youth Movement in Alappuzha .

Mr Balaraman said that fake encounter deaths have occurred not only in Gujarat, but in states including Maharashtra. The Kerala police too are trying to follow Modi as example. Several families are going destitute when the police charge innocents of terrorism. Even the Kerala police have a history of making false charges and torturing innocents. Here there is a condition when even the Human Rights Commission is not functioning justly. The youth should come forward for justice, he said.

The future of the Indian Republic lie in the caution of its citizens, said Solidarity state vice-president KA Shafeek in his presidential address. Reverend Fr Prof Abraham Joseph said that Narendra Modis follow the anti-democratic attitude of killing those who they don’t like. Human rights violations have always occurred with the help of governments and that is what is happening in India now, said Janata Dal state secretary Sheik P Haris. Editor of ‘Naithikasamvadam’ R Padmakumar, Gopinathan Pilla (father of Javed who was killed in fake encounter in Gujarat), Solidarity state committee member KA Firose, Jamat e Islami district acting president M Abdul Latheef, SIO state committee member U Shaiju, Solidarity district president VA Aboobaker and secretary Sajeeb Jalal spoke
